I think anyone saw the idea Qg1+ Ka2 Rb6. The real problem is that most will stop there and look for other ideas.

after 1. ... Qg1 2. Ka2 Rb6 , it seems
3. Qg8+ Ka7 is natural, now white has two main alternatives:

4. Rxe5 and then 4. ... Qd4 wins
and
4. b3 Qa1 mates

So, white can sacrifice queen and other openings (sacrifice rook for bishop in line 1) but black seems to win in all these lines.

You definitely found the theme of the position.
1..Qg1+ 2 Ka2 Rb6.
The best try for White as you said is 3 Re5 Rb3 4 cb3 with Black having Q versus R+N.

But what do you think about 2..Bb2! instead of 2..Rb6 ?
